Thomas Melvin Toone

Thomas Melvin Toone, 70, of Farmville, died September 6, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Florine B. Toone; son Dibon Toone and daughter Cody Jones, both of North Carolina; step-son Kenny Tinubu of Richmond; step-daughter Taiwo Bautista of California; two brothers Walter Toone and Lloyd Toone; three sisters Wallicia Walker, Geneva Burnett and Joanne Gilbert; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday 1 p.m. in the Faith Christian Church, 9220 Virginia Street, Amelia. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans in care of Kenneth Cox, # 17, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond, Va. 23249.

  I was Mr. Toone's secretary when he worked at Beaumont. I am so very sorry to hear of your family's loss. He was a wonderful co-worker, and most of all, friend. I will miss him... God bless you in this time of sorrow.
