Aline S. Conn

Aline S. Conn, 89, of Powhatan, passed away peacefully April 19, 2016. Aline was born on May 19, 1926 in Ivanhoe, Virginia. She was born 20 minutes after her twin sister Pauline, who was her life long best friend. She was the daughter of the late Earl C., Sr. & Annie Smith Sharpe. Aline worked at Celanese Acetate in Narrows, Va.; bank branches in Illinois, Texas & Virginia and retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. She is preceded in death by her brothers Earl C. Sharpe Jr., John David Sharpe, Joe H. Sharpe & Sam T. Sharpe. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harry Conn, Jr.; son, Harry Conn,III (Christina); sisters, Pauline DeHart of West Virginia, Mildred Ward, Nancy Williams both of North Carolina; one grand daughter, Millie Conn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Aline was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time talking on the phone and visiting her big and very happy family. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan and where the services will be held 11 am Friday.
