Anna May Richardson

Anna May Richardson, 85, widow of the Rev. R.A. Richardson, of Powhatan, formerly of New Castle, Va., Johnstown and Port Leyden, NY. went to be with the Lord November 25, 2018. She was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Cumberland, Md. to the late Hetzle and Clarice Twigg. She was preceded in death by her son, Hetzle "Lee" Richardson; sisters, Vida Shelley, Hetzelee Gailey. Anna May was a loving mother who treasured every moment with her family, and looked forward to seeing the face of her Savior, Jesus. She served faithfully as a minister's wife and considered being a mother and leading her children to the Lord to be the highest calling in life. She is survived by her six children, Rick Richardson (Melody), Paula Hofmann (David), Rhoda Thompson (Foster), Dan Richardson, Stephen Richardson (Joanna), Tim Richardson (Christa); one sister, Renee Cully; twenty one grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Holly Hills Baptist Church, 1659 Anderson Hwy., Powhatan. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery.
