Aubrey D. Smith, 52, of Powhatan, departed his earthly life and entered into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 12, 2024, peacefully, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his father John L Smith Jr. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Smith; mother, Barbara D Cundiff; children, Ayla Airhart (Collin), Aidan Smith, Brayden and Bella Smith; stepsons, Joshua Perry (Lexi), Justin Perry (Kaitlynn) and Joseph Perry; granddaughter Linden Airhart; sister, Ann Marie Brown; brothers, Paul Smith (Shelia) and Lee Smith and nieces and nephews.
His passion was fighting fires as he joined Company 3 Volunteer Fire Department prior to turning 15 years old. Then joining Chesterfield Fire Department in 1999 and served as Firefighter and Paramedic. His years of service of saving lives did not go unnoticed as he was passionate about his career, helping and teaching others even in his final days. He was always teaching, wanting you to be better, he was a fighter and determined. Even though he knew his time on earth was limited he still was doing what he could to help in information to save other lives during clinical trials. His smile was contagious, his personality was just as much and you just couldn't help but love him.
Many have so many wonderful memories of Aubrey and I pray that his memory will carry on til we are all called Home.
