Bess Jessup-Arrington

Bess Jessup-Arrington, 104, of Powhatan, widow of Louis Lee Jessup and Lloyd Arrington, went to be with the Lord, May 20, 2015. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law, Evelyn & Sidney Stokes; her son, Rixey Jessup and her grandson Alan Stokes. She is survived by her six grandchildren, Betsy Lewis (Dave) of Powhatan, Diane Jones (Scott) of North Carolina, Lynn Dupius (Steve) of Tennessee, Ann Smith (Nick) of Mississippi, Amy Wingfield (Kevin) of Powhatan, Jenny Easter (Tim)of Powhatan; daughter in law, Cenia Jessup of Tennessee; granddaughter in law, Linda Stokes of Powhatan; thirteen great grandchildren; step children, Lola Mountcastle-Easter (Floyd) of Amelia, Ann Webb (Butch) of Roanoke, William L. Arrington of Colonial Heights, Joe Arrington (Aleene) of Disputana, Alvin Arrington (Judy) of Kenbridge. Mrs. Jessup-Arrington was a active member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and enjoyed celebrating her last three birthdays on horseback at Lonesome Dove Equestrian Center. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and where services will follow at 1 pm. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Building Fund.
