Blaine Dion Courtney

Blaine Dion Courtney, born July 30, 1988, left us Thursday, October 30, 2014. He is survived by his parents, Mary Squares and Blaine Courtney; his four younger siblings, Morgan Courtney, Kaitlin Dandridge, Dexter and Kobe Courtney; grandparents, Jane and Sylvester Courtney, Nora and Jimmy Hargrove; many aunts, uncles, cousins, several close friends; and his loyal companion, Joose. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Squares Sr. Dion lived in Louisa and Powhatan, where he worked with his father, trained horses and raised his bottle-fed calves. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson and friend, who enjoyed making everyone laugh. Dion will be deeply and widely missed. In his honor, a memorial service will be held at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy., Powhatan, Va., on Tuesday, November 4, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3pm prior to the service.
