Carol L. (Hart) Tilton

Carol L. (Hart) Tilton, 87, of Powhatan, Virginia passed away on September 27, 2024. She was born in Neptune, New Jersey on November 30, 1936. Carol was a 1955 graduate of Manasquan High School in New Jersey. She met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Tilton in 1955. They spent many years in New Jersey raising their two kids and several dogs before relocating to Virginia in 1992 to be closer to their family and grandkids. Carol loved spending summers in Virginia out by the pool teaching the grandkids how to swim, and playing games in the yard. She and Bob loved traveling down south in their RV to spend their winters in the sunny state of Florida. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, Grammy to her grandkids and great grandkids, and a friend to many. She enjoyed being with her family and pets, spending each morning having breakfast with Bob and her friends at Panera’s, watching Lifetime movies every night at 8 pm, and watching church every Sunday morning with her Shih Tzu Miley Cyrus. Carol is survived by her two children Robert “Pat” Tilton (Brenda) and Sherri Campo (Todd); three grandchildren Amy DeHart (Kyle), Lindsay Mitchell (Sean), and Brandon Cubbage (Brianna); four great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four step-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert “Bob” Tilton. Carol will have a graveside service at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery on October 3rd, 2024 at 12 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation or Best Friends Animal Society.
