December 7, 2014 — April 1, 2012

HORD, Clifford A., 97, of Richmond, formerly of Mechanicsville, widower of Louise Henley Hord, went to be with his Lord, April 1, 2012. A native of Richmond, he was the son of the late Ruble A. and Mattie Mitchell Hord. He was a WWII navy veteran. He lived for many years in Mechanicsville behind Dorn's Body and Auto Shop. They called him Pappy and he always remembered their kindness to him. His last years were at Veterans Hospital in Richmond. He was loved and cared for there by the nurses and befriended many buddies. He is survived by his children, Betty Lou Roberts, Edna L. Perkins, Joyce L. Ballard, John R. Hord (Melody); 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia A. Jemjemian. We loved him dearly and will miss his laughter. A graveside service will be held Wednesday 2 pm in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond.
