Cynthia Stallings Edwards

Cynthia (Cindy) Stallings Edwards, 61, passed away after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer on September 24th, 2022, in her Powhatan, VA home.

Cindy was born on June 27, 1961, in Richmond, VA, to her parents, the late Roy A. and Catherine G. Stallings. The third of four children, Cindy had two sisters and a brother: Cathy S. Walton, the late Sherry S. Norwood, and Paul A. Stallings. On December 18, 1982, Cindy married the love of her life, Thomas (Tommy) Dale Edwards. He and their daughter, Erin Nicole Edwards Miller were by her side when the Lord called her home.

A very devoted person, Cindy loved her work, and, most especially, her family with her entire heart. She was the rock of her immediate and extended family. Cindy never wanted to be the center of attention but loved to have a good time with family and was known to be the life of the party from time to time. She was most comfortable at home, sitting in her favorite chair while listening to music on her screened in porch. Her life revolved around her daughter and grandchildren who she considered her greatest accomplishment. She was an extremely caring woman, an incredible wife and a tremendous mother and grandmother. Words cannot express how incredibly she will be missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years, Tommy; her daughter, Erin (Chris); three grandchildren, Sloane Margaret, Shea Rubye, and Nolan Gregory; sister Cathy; brother Paul (Laura); the Edwards family; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11 AM, followed by a service to celebrate her life at noon. The events will be held at Open Door Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member of the congregation, at 7151 Belmont Rd. Chesterfield, VA 23832. Interment will be private.
