David Hoke Lester, Jr., 66, of Powhatan, died February 15, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Trisha S. Lester; two sons, Nathan Lester (Megan), Adam Lester (Jenny) both of Richmond; two step-sons, Dennis of Ohio and Derek White of Michigan; one brother, Ron Lester (Barbara) of Richmond; two grandchildren, Hoke, Brogan; three step-grandchildren, Addison, Rhys, Chloe; one niece, Holly; three nephews Christopher (Kristen), Gene and Brock (Tiffany). He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoke and Oneida Lester and one brother, Jim Lester. David was proud of his service with the Navy, he enjoyed spending time with his friends from VEPCO, the Moose Lodge, and the Harley Shop. He loved his motorcycle and the freedom that came with being on a Harley Davidson, telling stories of riding from Florida up the coast and the adventures that came with those trips. David was a proud father and grandfather, his adoration for all of his children and grandchildren showed in his eyes and gigantic laugh. He never forgot to say I love you, give a hug or lend a hand. His imprint was deep and lasting and we will feel him around us until we meet again. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan with a reception following from 5 to 7pm at the County Seat Restaurant, 3883 Old Buckingham Rd., Powhatan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
