Davonne Elaine Witt

Davonne "Dee" E. Witt died unexpectedly on April 18, 2023 at the age of 49. 

Davonne is survived by her loving parents James and Joyce Witt; loving/dedicated friend, Kathy Dobrick; Brothers, Brian (Whitney), and Mark (Erin); Nieces and Nephews, Britin, Makenzie, Leah, Grace, Max, Billy, and Tucker; The loving girls she called her own: Heather (Chris and Edmund), Brittany (Erik, Carter and Dawson), and Tabitha (Joey). Along with many other loving family and friends. 

Davonne was a devoted Master Trooper with Virginia State Police for 27 years (1995 - 2023). She served in the two surrounding counties, Powhatan and Amelia for 21 years. She then accepted a competitive transfer to The Safety Division, area 61 Richmond Field Division before becoming a Master Trooper in 2019. During her time of service, fellow troopers always referred to her as a compassionate trooper, who was always readily willing to be stern and handle business when it was time. 

To know Davonne was to know a kind, loving, funny, determined lady. Please hold on to those memories and think of her often. 

Please join us in celebrating the life of Davonne Witt. A viewing will be held at Bennett & Barden Funeral home in Powhatan, VA on Sunday, April 23 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25th at 2pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Midlothian, Va. Processional to Powhatan Community Cemetery for Graveside Service.
