Donald Stephen Roberts

Donald Stephen Roberts, 70, of Powhatan went home to be with his lord and savior on 12/1/2021. Donnie (as known to his family and friends) was preceded in death by his parents David & Helen Thompson, his sister Sharon Irby and 2 brothers Scott & Mike Roberts. Donnie is survived by his wife Kathy Roberts of 27 years, his twin brother Ronnie Roberts (Jane), four sons; Stephen Roberts(Angie), Paul Roberts (Carolyn), Kevin Roberts (Mary), and Andrew McInturff (Lora), 2 daughters; Jennifer Skeens (Tommy) and Brittany Taylor (Danny).Donnie also leaves behind 18 grandkids; Josh, Jason, Randy, Matt, Donnie, Caleb, Amanda, Kristin, Ashley, JT, Suzy, Sarah, Raelynn, Katie, Sadie, Presley, Ruby, and Lee , and 3 great grandkids. Donnie retired from Dominion Energy after 40 years of service. Donnie was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed hanging out with his kids and grandkids. Donnie loved going to the outer banks and hanging out with his Sea Kove family (Nancy, Boom, Skip, Sue, Cathy, Tommy, Chris Julie, Caroline and many more), weekends at Lake Gaston and taking his boat out on the water. Donnie had an infectious laugh and always found the good in any bad situation and loved to tell funny jokes even if they only made sense to him. Donnie loved taking care of the grandkids when they were home sick from school, needed a ride to work or school activity, and loved to tease the kids about eating their Halloween candy. Donnie always put others first and will be remembered by many as the kindest man. A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, at 3pm at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 2109 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, VA 23139. A reception following the ceremony.
