Durwood Ray Bartlam

BARTLAM, Durwood Ray, 89, of Powhatan, went to be with our Lord April 22, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the US Army. He worked for and retired from Reynolds Metals. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his playful spirit, silly songs and devotion to his family and love of the outdoors. Durwood is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Audrey Reese Bartlam; daughter, Sharon Kite (Stephen); son, D. Keith Bartlam (Melanie); five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight) from 6 to 8 pm at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday in the Powhatan Community Church. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Powhatan Community Church P.o. Box 834 Powhatan, VA. 23139.
