Eileen Beatrice Goode

Eileen Beatrice Goode, 42, of Powhatan, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert John Goode. 
She is survived by her significant other, Todd Skinger; children, Harper Skinger and Haileyanne Skinger; mother, Stephanie Goode; sisters, Mary Katherine Goode and Deidre Goode; nephew, Finnegan Goode; sister-in-law, Tess Isaacson; and canine companions, Olivia and Beebee. 
Eileen worked as a journalist for National Public Radio for many years and most recently for Charlottesville Tomorrow. She was a talented public speaker, speech writer, and debater. Eileen was passionate about local news, Star Wars, animals, and most of all, her family.  She will always be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, sense of humor, and kindness. She is loved and will be dearly missed.
A Wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the Wake service from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont St., Duxbury, MA 02332.
