Eric Ray Mills

Born November 21st, 1964, Eric Ray “Bubba” Mills gained his wings April 9th, 2025, after 60 years of a life well lived.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray Mills and Mildred Myrtle Bailey Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lusk Mills; sons, Jarrett Spaw (Ashley), Joshua Mills (Tiffany); baby girl, Shannon Mills; sisters, Lori Mills, Victoria Ludlow (Jeff), Ashley Calhoun (Jeremy); nephews, Alex Ludlow (Michelle & Zane), Caleb Calhoun; niece, Lynsay Bouzek (David); grandpups, Bodie James, Luna, Ollie and Daisy.

He grew up in Richmond and spent a few years in Florida. At 14 he met and fell in love with Rebecca (Becky) eventually Mills after years of waiting on her to realize there wasn’t a more perfect man for her! Eric spent a few years in the Navy before coming home and becoming Richmond areas finest Master Plumber. Customers would love his visits because not only was he a master of his craft, but they were guaranteed a show with his incredible vocal skills singing along with his music. Eric’s biggest accomplishment in Life was being Dad. Jarrett Josh and Shannon were the center of his life he made sure that they knew Dad was always in their corner… he made sure we knew the value of hard work and how to let loose and enjoy life’s journey. And that the boys love Tiffany and Ashley with everything and always dance in the Kitchen just like he and Mom!

His family was his favorite part of his journey. Big sister Lori, littles sisters Vitoria and Ashley were his favorite phone calls and visits……oh the stories they could share between weekend hangs, Holidays and those beautiful cruise vacations he loved living life with them. Especially Cooking his 5-star meals every chance he got! Then there’s little Brother Andy… blood couldn’t have made them closer between years of working and cooking on job sites together and enjoying life to its fullest he had no greater friend that the man he called Brother. Bubba was blessed with nephews Alex and Caleb, and Niece Lynsay…. He couldn’t have been more proud of them and loved having them at the house at any given time of life.

Oh, and his Grandpups were not so secretly his favorite visitors.

Wether it was working a project, quoting every word to movies like John Carter, never meeting a stranger or singing his soul out to any radio playing he did so with every ounce of strength love and skill he had.

He will be missed but definitely never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 19th, at Amelia Baptist Church
