Forrest E. "Tippy" Hamilton

Forrest E. "Tippy" Hamilton, 95, of Powhatan, widower of Shirley E. Hamilton, went to be with the Lord November 10, 2016. He is survived by one son, Forrest K. Hamilton of Powhatan; one sister, Marjorie Stagg of Richmond; one grandson, Thomas Hamilton; one great grandson Karter Shelton; comfort givers and devoted friends Brenda Riel and Cliff Stewart. Tippy was a WWII veteran and served in the Pacific with the 81st Infantry Division that was an occupying force in Japan. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for more than thirty years. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm Sunday (today) in the Bennett and Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Monday 1pm in First Baptist Church, 2109 Anderson Hwy., Powhatan. Interment Old Powhatan Baptist Church 2202 Old Church Rd., Powhatan.
