Frances Blankenship Smith

Frances B. Smith, 78, of Powhatan, widow of Alvin Smith, daughter of the late Clifford and Louise Chase Blankenship, passed away August 23, 2017. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Roland of Texas, son, Kenny Bennett (Iommi) of Powhatan; two brothers, Butch Blankenship (Gloria), Melvin Blankenship (Lynne); sister, B. J. Merchant (Charles) all of Powhatan; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Bennett and one sister, Linda Blankenship. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan and where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Powhatan Animal Shelter, 4000 Old Plantation Rd. Powhatan, VA. 23139.
