Frank Peter Frisone Jr. was born on May 3, 1936, in Lynn, MA, and passed away December 16, 2023, in Midlothian, VA. Frank is the son of Frank P. Frisone Sr. and Dorothy Decareau Frisone. Frank lives on through his wife Joanne, his brother John, his daughters Patty Buser and Susan Chavez, his sons-in-law Homero Chavez and Kevin Buser, and his granddaughter Elizabeth Chavez. Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he worked hard to make sure his family was cared for.
Frank had a passion for cooking, music, performing arts, traveling, and on a special occasion, an ice-cold draft beer. His love for food and cooking started when he was young and it is what drove his career in food service in the military, airline catering, and the VA Hospital where he retired as Chief of Food Service in La Jolla, CA. Frank put his heart and soul into every meal that he prepared for his family.
He filled his home with his favorite music and loved to play the guitar and sing. During his time living in Asheville, NC, he performed with a barbershop chorus. Although he prided himself on financial prudence, there was always money in the budget for entertainment. Frank always made sure his family attended live theater performances, especially musical theater.
Frank became actively involved with the Catholic church after retirement. During his time living in Victorville, CA, he helped teach young people as they went through confirmation classes and became involved in a program that reached out to those incarcerated. Frank was very caring and did not hesitate to buy a meal for a person in need.
He held a very special place in his heart for St. Francis, the patron saint of animals. Frank loved all creatures, and over the years, he and his wife Joanne took in many cats in need of a home.
Frank lived a full and happy life and will always be remembered for the incredible, genuine person he was and the lives he touched.
A service at the Veteran's cemetery in Amelia, VA, will be held at a later date.
