George F. "PaPa" Respess

George F. Respess (PaPa George) of Farmville, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 5, 2018. A retired Machinist for Ford Automotive Rebuilders. He is proceeded in death by his parents George and Irene Respess, two sisters Erma Major and Sally King, one brother John Respess. He is survived by his wife Martha Lestourgeon, daughter Patricia Leake, son David Respess (Tracey), two step-daughters Olivia Palmore (Floyd) and Joann Doss (John), 10 grandchildren including Sherry Osborne (Douglas) with whom he lived with; 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; one brother, Ellis Respress of N.C.; special friends, Paul Miller and Linda Gammon. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 32115 Anderson Hwy. (Rt.60), Powhatan and where services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11th at 11:00 a.m. Interment at 1 p.m. in the Washington Memorial Park. Papa George was a man of God, who loved his sweetie, kids, grandkids, and everyone he met.
