George Willard Dingus, 84, of Powhatan Virginia, formerly of Cartersville, Virginia, passed to his eternal home on July 14, 2021. He graduated from Coeburn High school in Coeburn, Virginia and studied drafting at Wise County Technical School. Wise, Virginia. He retired from Phillip Morris in 1994 after 25 years as a machine designer and was the holder of two US Patients. George was a fifty plus year member of the Masonic Lodge, with his son and grandson following in his footsteps. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Alice (Kay) B. Dingus. One Daughter Elizabeth Franklin (Rodney), two sons George Bryon Dingus (Beth), and James "Jamie" Dingus (Sarah). He is also survived by four grandchildren, Megan Franklin, Will Dingus (Ashley), Andrew Franklin, and Kyle Dingus. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Natalie Dingus, one brother Curtis Dingus, two sisters Jenelle D. Harvey and Carrie D. McCloud. The Family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, July 16th at Bennett Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, Virginia, where Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, July 17th, with graveside services following at the Cartersville Cemetery, Cartersville, Virginia.
