Gerhard Otto Mertsch

Gerhard Mertsch, 81, of Powhatan, widower of Judy Mertsch, passed away surrounded by his family March 10, 2019. He is survived by four children, Stephanie Lee (Craig) of Chester, Mark Jessee (Michele) of Maryland, Jonathan Mertsch (Tracy) of Henrico, Karl Mertsch (Lisa) of Chesterfield; five siblings, Karl Mertsch, Erica Mertsch, Karl-Hinz Than, Ullrich Mertsch all of Germany, Waltraut Mertsch of Venezuela and thirteen granchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Red Lane Baptist Church, Powhatan. Interment church cemetery.
