Harold Douglas Jones

Harold Douglas Jones, 87, of Powhatan, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Harold was a beloved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Jones; daughters, Wanda Kennedy (John), Cindy Hazelwood (Steve), Connie Gentry (Barry), Sherry Collins and her companion, Johnny Slayton;grandchildren, Todd Gentry (Brandy), Melody Gentry, Clint M. Collins (Katie), Autumn Collins, Nicole & Jesse Hazelwood; great-grandchildren, Austin Murdock, Marissa Gentry, Mary-Jane, Mariska, Davlin Gentry and Clinton D. Collins; sisters, Frances Murray (Gus)Mary Yordy (Gary); brothers, Alvin Jones (Artie), Clyde Jones (Dorea), Lonnie Jones (Dawn), Richard Leith (Lyne) and many other relatives and friends. Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a retiree from Philip Morris. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid Redskins & Rusty Wallace fan. A memorial service will be held 3 pm Saturday, in the Powhatan United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
