Jackson Wellington Hatfield, 20 of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away August 16, 2022.
He is survived by his parents Amanda Taylor Hatfield and N Michael Hatfield; sister, Katherine Jane Hatfield; brother, Jeb Thomas Hatfield; grandparents, Larry and Joan Taylor of Madison, GA, and Norm and Charlotte Hatfield of Midlothian, VA.
Jack attended the Blessed Sacrament Huguenot School in Powhatan, VA where he participated in several sports, but his main love was football which he played from 8th-12th grade. His favorite position was outside linebacker and many Friday nights he was seen carrying the Hammer Award onto the field. Jack was also the recipient of the Club 59 award for football his senior year at BSH. After graduation from BSH Jack's love of the west led him to the University of Wyoming.
Jack had an easy and frequent smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He brought joy to all who knew him. He loved music and listened to a wide variety of genres from rock to bluegrass to gospel. He was a self-taught bassist and beginning keyboard player. Jack was an avid reader and history enthusiast. He was interested in aviation and as a young boy enjoyed flying with his grandfather in a Stearman biplane and Piper J3 Cub.
Jack was a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend who will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Services will be held Monday, August 22nd, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the St. Lukes Episcopal Church. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Blessed Sacrement Football team (https://bshknights.org/giving/donation-form/)
