James Joseph (Jimmy) Cassidy, Jr, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born February 14, 1938, in Red Bank, NJ the only son to Ethel and James Sr.
He was the loving husband of the late, Waltraud (Linda) Cassidy for 59 years.
Jimmy served our country in the US Army directly from high school he served in Germany. Afterwards, he became a Certified Ford mechanic. Throughout his life, he loved working on and collecting antique automobiles.
In 1968, he established Cassidy Trucking Co. Before retiring, he and his wife were able to travel cross-country making deliveries while seeing the sights.
Jimmy was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, and voted Moose of the year in 2009. He was also an active member of the Elks. He was a veteray was a cowboy at heart, and loved watching old westerns. In his younger days, he even owned his own horses. He loved puppies and babies and really loved reminiscing about his youthful antics and adventures. Recently he also realized a renewed fondness for dancing.
Predeceased by his wife, and 3 sisters; He is survived by his 4 daughters, Pamela, Patricia (Tom), Beverly (Tom), and Laura; 6 grandchildren, Christine, Kellyann, Thomas Jr., Nicholas, Marissa and Kurt; and recently his first great grandchild; as well as nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St John Neumann Catholic Church in Powhatan, Virginia on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
