James E. Johnson, 83, of Midlothian, passed away peacefully May 9, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Lola Collins Johnson; two sons, James E. Johnson, Jr. of Florida, J. Michael Johnson of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his six brothers and one sister. James grew up in Arkansas then served in the U.S. Army before starting his commercial refrigeration business. As he dealt with all the complications of congestive heart failure, he dreamed of fishing for small mouth bass on the James. His other loves were his best friend and wife Lola, their grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to give a sincere thanks to Dr. Evan, Condro and Gilligan as well as Hospice of Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 11am in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan, with a funeral service following at 11am.
