James S. Rose, 98 of Powhatan passed on January 10, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Maxine W. Rose; one daughter Mary Newman (Chris); two stepchildren Kirby Williams (Nancy) and Annette Branch; four grandchildren Kelly, Beau, Landon and Aaron and one great granddaughter Maggie.
Sam was a WWII veteran and prior owner of Rose Funeral Home Powhatan now Bennett & Barden Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday 2:00 PM in the Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers consider a gift of remembrance with your favorite charity.
