Jeanette M. Ridings

Jeanette M. Ridings(91) departed this Earth on October 5, 2024, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, and her son, Raymond. Jeanette is survived by her daughters Janet and Mary, and her sons, William and James (Anita), as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Jeanette and Claude moved to Powhatan in 1964, to the farm they named MillView on Three Bridge Road. She soon became involved in the Altar Guild at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Powhatan Garden Club, the Historical Society, and later in life, the YMCA. She loved the ocean, was an excellent chef and artist, and was a prolific gardener. Jeanette was the matriarch of a large extended family in Maryland, Virginia, and Florida and will be greatly missed.

Funeral and Burial services will be held at St. Luke’s Church in Powhatan on Friday, 11 October at 11am, immediately followed by a reception in the church parish house. All family and friends are welcome.
