Joan E Huntzinger Johns

January 2, 1939 — November 3, 2013

formerly Joan E. Newman, 74, joined the Lord in Eternal Life on November 3, 2013. Originally from Wilkes Barre, Pa she lived her last 35 years in Richmond, Virginia and Virginia Beach. A beloved blessing to her family and all who knew her, Joan had a loving heart and was full of life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Joan was an advocate for conservation and solar energy, and became a caring and successful Real Estate Agent in the Richmond and VA Beach areas. With her focus on faith she was a strong Christian and Catholic and always attended church on Sundays. Her outgoing nature was expressed in the work that she did with Caritas in helping the homeless and providing care and guidance to teenagers in need. She will be loved and missed by all. Through her faith and dependence on Christ we know that she is now in His loving care. Joan is loved and survived by her husband William A. Johns, her children Steven G. Newman, (Margie) FL; Robert C. Newman (Andrea), NC; Patricia N. Davis (Keith), VA; Katherine N. Decker (Tony), NJ, Deborah Miles, Va., Judy Gerding, Va., Theresa DeLosh (Glenn) NJ; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
