John David Barden

John David Barden, 68, of Powhatan, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 26, 2023. He is preceded in death by his father, M.P. Barden, Jr.; brother, Thomas W. Barden, Sr. and nephew, Thomas W. Barden, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Karen Barden, mother, Barbara Barden; sister, Vickie Maxey (John); brothers, Lawrence Barden (Barbara), Kenneth Barden (Wanda) and numerous nieces and nephews. David enjoyed Boston Red Sox Baseball, NASCAR, Southside speedway and making Brunswick Stew. The family will receive friends 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Wednesday at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home in Powhatan, where his funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Powhatan Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 247, Powhatan, VA 23139.
