John L. Smith, Jr.

“John L. Smith Jr. (Smitty) 84 years of age on the early morning hours of Wednesday November 16, 2022, went to be with the Lord.  He is survived by be the following family: Margie Smith Long (Sister); Son-John L Smith III (Caitlyn D Smith-granddaughter), Son- Aubrey D Smith (Grandchildren; Ayla Smith, Aidan Smith, Brayden Smith, and Bella Smith).

Smitty has performed welding services at many locations throughout the years such as North Anna Nuclear Plant, Phillip Morris USA, Richmond Coliseum, and many backyard addresses.  He has spoken of many enjoyable jobs while working with napkin and company.

Smitty had a strong passion for drawing and enjoyed riding the back country roads with the oldies playing.  He also had a love for his animals, especially his two geese Luther and Lucy.  In his final days he enjoyed going to the church at the nursing home to listen to the live music. Then Friday afternoons his top priority was playing BINGO!”

A Visitation will be held in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 PM
