Julian Edward "Ed" Boyer, 85, of Powhatan, born to George Julian and Mary Utley Boyer on September 1, 1928 entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 8, 2014. Ed sleeps in Jesus waiting for Resurrection. He is preceded in death by, his wife of 52 years, Beulah Taylor Boyer and his sister Hannah Boyer Saunders. He precedes his wife, Ardeen Taylor Boyer and four children and their spouses; Phillip and (Debra), Dan and (Susan), John and (Kim), Mary Etta and (Daniel) Yu, his sister Virginia Mae" Bootsie" and (Ronnie) Battaile; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Also, Ardeen's loving family, including the Children, Grandchildren and Great grand children. Ed grew up in Powhatan and was educated there and graduated from Powhatan High School. Ed was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Philippines and Japan. After the war Ed's life is an amazing testament of living a full exciting life trusting Jesus Christ to take care of everything. Ed served his fellowmen with his smile, dignity, honor, calm acute wisdom and energetic love. He loved the Lord and pointed all to Him. After WWII his career and contributions start at Dupont, where he met his wife Beulah. Then his career went to truck/auto sales and to owning a dealership. His depth and versatility continue. Ed was very active in NASCAR. He built Grand National racecars, was a pit crew chief, and set a track speed record at Daytona Raceway. In 1960 he became a Justice of the Peace, then Magistrate serving Powhatan and surrounding counties for almost 50 years. Ed was a member of the Powhatan and Midlothian Masonic Lodge for 60 years, as well as a Past Grand Master. Ed was a faithful member, servant, and Deacon of Bethel Baptist Church most of his adult life. He pointed and led many to Christ. One of his last statements was "I believe the Lord has one more thing He wants me to do," showing that, even in death, his resolve was to serve the Lord at all times. The family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist Church, 1100 Huguenot Springs Road, Midlothian, VA 23113 on Saturday, August 16, from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The funeral service will also take place at Bethel Baptist Church, 1100 Huguenot Springs Road, Sunday, August 17 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Endowment Fund of Bethel Baptist Church,
