Katherine (Kitty) Alexander Kramer

May 6, 1948 — January 5, 2021

On January 5th 2021 Katherine Alexander (Kitty) Kramer of Powhatan, Va. passed this life to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven at 72 years of age. Her strength and tenacity through the end were a testament to the life she led and part of the legacy she will leave behind. Kitty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Raymond (Ray) Kramer; her children, Tammy Rogers and Lee Kramer; her Grandchildren, Jacob, Seth, Charlotte and Ethan; Her brothers Sonny Alexander, Maynard Worrell, Russel Worrell, and David Worrell; and the many children she had the pleasure of caring for throughout the years.
Kitty was born May 6, 1948 in Farmville. Her early childhood was spent in Pamplin, moving to Amelia at the age of 11. There she would graduate from Amelia High School in 1968. Kitty loved to care for children, her house was always decorated as a Christmas wonderland for their pleasure and this year was no exception. She especially enjoyed piloting the “barrel train” for the Spring Antique Power Show. Kitty loved to serve in her church, Powhatan United Methodist. In her time, she helped establish a much-loved event “Day in the Country” and was a fixture at the many suppers and fellowship gatherings. Kitty so dearly loved her grandchildren. Despite her physical struggles she never forgot a birthday or missed a milestone celebration. She made it to every sporting event she could, and was still as fiercely competitive as anyone may remember from her years of playing softball. Kitty loved to go and do things and be active despite her health challenges over the last 15 years. We were blessed by her life, and at peace knowing that all those struggles are behind her. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service will be scheduled. Hopefully we will be able to safely gather soon to celebrate this wonderful life.
