Lois Irene Taylor, 82, of Richmond City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 9th, 2022. Born on June 10th, 1939, she was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Jones & Roger Shelton; siblings Reba, Patsy, David Ray (Butch), George, Hazel and Roger (Junior); and her two sons David and Michael. She is survived by her sister Joyce Brown; daughters Janet Tillis and Audrey Cook; Grandchildren Richard Bingle, Christina Bingle, Jessica Cook, Jesse Bradley, Sara Shaffer, Laura Moreno, Amanda Cook, and Rachel Ownby; Great-Grandchildren Danielle, Duane, Sophia, Lisa, Jenny, Quinn, and Aviana along with many nieces and nephews. A true woman of God, Lois lived her life to serve others and spent many years volunteering for hospice. She was a dedicated caretaker who constantly put others before herself, prayed non-stop, dusted herself off after every fall, and was the glue that held her family together. She was constantly thanking Jesus for the blessings in her life even when things were hard and dark. She was strong, fierce, resilient, and a true hero to many in her community and family. A forever enthusiast of Elvis, she enjoyed the playful things in life, spending time and reminiscing with family, and making other people laugh. Fiercely independent and always forgiving, she was an inspiration to her entire family who will certainly be lost without her presence, voice, and the love she poured from her heart daily. A graveside service will be held on Sunday March 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM. Her final resting place will be with her two sons at Powhatan Community Cemetery in Powhatan, VA.
