Marilyn E. Chemlock

Marilyn E. Chemlock, 72 of Powhatan, passed away February 13, 2025. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Florence Chemlock and sister Barbara Chemlock. She is survived by her children, Emily Kolokowsky-Painter (Ricky), Cindy Kolokowsky, Brian Kolokowsky (Meg) and Karen Stephenson (Scott); grandchildren, Olivia, Nathan, McKenzie and Grace; her beloved dog, Henry and cat, Binx; as well as her many grand dogs, horses & cats . Marilyn was born in Kearney, New Jersey but was raised in Nutley, NJ and as she would always say "It is where all the Nuts Live!". She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and received her Bachelor's in English. She moved here to Virginia in the mid 70's where she then went on to attend VCU school of Nursing in 1980. Her nursing career spanned from 1983 - 2018 throughout the Richmond area. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her dogs, cats and horses on her farm. Her best times were spent riding her super pony Sophie with her daughter, Emily, trail riding with friends and participating in local horse shows. She loved traveling with friends and family, antiquing, gardening and especially trips to COSTCO. Marilyn was a proud organ donor and her life will live on through others. A celebration of life will be held for friends and family at a future date in the Spring.
