Mary Murphy Webster, 89, of Powhatan, widow of Donald McCollough Webster, died November 7, 2013. Born on May 17, 1924 in Martinsville, Va. the daughter of the late James and Annie Dell Murphy. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Donna W. Carroll of Powhatan, Rita F. Chapman of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Brett Horrell and fiance' Siobhan Veno of Norfolk, Heather Horrell Clements (Judson) of Newport News; two great grandchildren, Jay and Caroline Clements; two brothers, Leon Murphy (Rita), Wayne Murphy (Frances); two sisters, Frances McCarter, Ruth Lawson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and Lisa Johnsen who was her caregiver and friend for the past several months. Mrs. Webster was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde Murphy, Harold Murphy, James Murphy; sisters, Edna Murphy and Myrtle Barnes. The family will receive friends from 11am to 12 noon Tuesday at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Powhatan followed by a funeral services at 12 noon. Interment private. The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital, Johnston-Willis Hospital and Hospice of Virginia for their compassionate and wonderful care during her illness following her stroke.
