Melba Bonifant Walters

Melba Bonifant Walters, 93, of Chesterfield, widow of Samuel W. Bonifant and William A. Walters, passed away surrounded by her family December 13, 2017. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Stone of Chesterfield, Charlotte Carpenter (Eddie) of Goochland, Debbie Walmsley (Pete) of Midlothian; seven grandchildren, Ronnie Bradbury (Laura), Keith Bradbury (Dawn), Damon Bradbury (Heather), Lon Ragland (Mary Beth), Lance Ragland, Megan Gross, Mitchell Gross; nine great grandchildren, Allen, James, Sam, Logan, Hayden, Coleman Bradbury, Nick, Ben Ragland and Miller Norton-Ragland. Melba was preceded in death by one son, Sam Bonifant, Jr. The family would like to thank Ellen Weaver for her caring and compassionate care of their mother. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church, 1100 Huguenot Springs Rd., Midlothian. Interment Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Powhatan.
