Melissa Smiley Samuel

Melissa Smiley Samuel, 49, passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Lee Smiley. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Troy Samuel; three sons, Jacob Ray Samuel, Lucas Howard Samuel and Arthur Caleb "A.C." Samuel; 2 granddaughters, Bentley and Brooklyn; her mother and step-father, Lucie and Duncan Buchanan; brother, William Smiley; mother-in-law, Stacey Samuel all of Powhatan. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan. Services will be held Wednesday, at 11:00 am in the Graceland Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Graceland Baptist Church, 975 Dorset Road, Powhatan, VA 23139.
