Michael "Mikey" Goffinett passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2025 at the age of 62 with his family at his side in Powhatan, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents - Ed and Minnie Goffinett, his two brothers Johnny and Eddie, and his 1st born son Mikey Edward. He is survived by his Uncle, Gary Goffinett; and cousin Dorothy (Billy); His sons Dane and Jake (Samantha); Grandsons Michael Edison and Tyler Jacob; Siblings, Mariana Turgeon (Roger), Bobby Goffinett, Frannie Goffinett, and Essy Goffinett.
Michael was the third oldest of 7 children and always took care of the family while being loving. He kept up relationships with relatives and maintained longtime relationships with his friends (too many to list). Michael always called Jackie “the love of his life” and now he can “bounce” in heaven to his heart's content. Jackie is his forever soulmate and is comforted knowing Michael will never hurt again.
Michael also had a UNIQUE entrepreneurial spirit and was always looking into little businesses, and side gigs and hoping to win the lottery to give it away. Michael was an adventurous person, loved being outdoors, loved to fish and hunt and loved to wander finding new things to see and do.
Michael made friends everywhere he went and him living in Virginia was not an exception. He met our longtime friend, Jan whom we met years ago when mom became sick. Jan stated “Michael always wanted to cook for me but instead I would have a beer with him on the front porch and talk. Michael spoke of his mom often and said several times “I feel my mom is with me now”. Michael was a good friend to me, I loved him and I will miss him forever”. Even though Michael was a complicated person at times, he had a beautiful heart and a gentle soul. We all will miss you Michael and will dream for you.
