Nancy Tomlinson

Nancy Tomlinson, 84, passed on August 24, 2023 after suffering with dementia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Waldrop and her daughter, Charlene Martin. She is survived by her children, Connie Paulette, Paige Butler and Chuck Tomlinson (Karen). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom knew her by a title she cherished by being called "Granny" or "Gangy". She is also survived by her three sisters, Shelby Adams (Ted), Charlotte Jessup (Artie) and Mary K. Walker (Danny) for which the four of them were inseparable and provided great entertainment at family events. Nancy was a hard worker whom worked for DMV and VITA for a total of 30 years along with countless side jobs and volunteering. Nancy was a loving and giving person and would give you the shirt off her back. Nancy never met a stranger. We are thankful she is healed and back to her comfort zone of being the life of the party again with those who have gone before her. There will be a casual celebration of life at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home in Powhatan, VA on September 9, 2023 between the hours of 1:00-3:00 PM, with a Eulogy to be read at 2:00 PM. The family wishes to express our appreciation to the staff at Seaton in Chesterfield and Legacy Hospice for the love and care of Nancy. Memorial contributions can be made to the Children's Hospital of Richmond or the Alzheimer's Association.
