Natalie Hope Balderson passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on May 13, 2022, at the age of 64, in Chesterfield, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Natalie was born October 15, 1957 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Widmeyer, Jr. She is survived by her two children, Kenneth Zaksek, Jr. and Jaimee Beadles; life partner, Alan Gray; mother, Mildred Basescu; brother, Guy Widmeyer, III; sisters, Valerie Sikes and Melanie Vaughn; two grandchildren, Lawrence and Corrine; a host of Nieces and Nephews. Natalie was one of the most positive and sweetest you could ever know. Her smile, kindness, vibrantly positive attitude and strength was admired by those who knew her. After years at the American Diner, Natalie was able to fulfill her dream of opening her own restaurant, the Route 60 Grill with her son Kenny. Opening the Grill was one of her proudest achievements. Her customers and friends meant a lot to her, she always remembered her customers names, drinks and favorite dishes, making them all feel special. Her customers became her friends, and she never met a stranger. She was also creative and artistic, enjoying painting when she could find the time. She found excitement in the arrival of the hummingbirds and blooming plants and flowers in her garden. She loved spending time at the beach, it was her happy place. She also enjoyed her mountain vacations, spending time with family meant the most to her. She will truly be forever missed. The family wishes to Thank the Doctors and Nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at MCV and Virginia Hospice for their care and compassion for Natalie in her last days. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27th at 3:00 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Natalie's name to your favorite charity.
