Opal was born May 23, 1934 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Roy Coleman and Daisy Thornsbury Coleman.
She departed from this life and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 20, 2022 after a brief illness. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband William “Bill” Pembelton, step mother Minnie Coleman, brothers; Troy Coleman, Teddy Coleman, Tommy Coleman, and Dealmer Coleman, two sisters; Nelly Donahue and Barbara Sue Coleman. She leaves behind her children; Lisa (Charles) Smith, Ricky Thompson, and Randy Goff, step children Ronnie (Jeanie) Pembelton, Jeff (Becky) Pembelton, and Linda Addison. She is also survived by two brothers; Jackson (Betty) Coleman and Raymond (Susie) Coleman, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Opal was a longtime member of Muddy Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed singing, playing cards and feeding a crowd with her famous chicken and dumplings. Opal not only loved her church but she loved the community around her. Opal, along with her husband Bill, enjoyed nothing more than serving Jesus by sharing his love with their Trenholm family and beyond. She is going to be greatly missed by her family, friends, and those who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home on Friday, June 24 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Muddy Creek Baptist Church on Saturday June 25 at 11:00 am with burial to follow.
