Patricia Ball Harrison Cox, known to her loved ones as Tricia, passed away on June 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 78 in Chesterfield County. She was born on May 14, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia. Patricia was a kind, giving and stylish individual who had a way with words.
Patricia had a passion for education and dedicated her career to teaching. She shared her knowledge and expertise with students in Virginia, Missouri, Texas and Georgia. Her commitment to shaping young minds left a lasting impact on the communities she served.
Outside of her professional life, Patricia had a vibrant personality and a range of interests. She had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed sharing her talent with others. Patricia also had a keen eye for fashion and her love for shopping was evident in her impeccable style and flair.
Tricia cherished her personal relationships with family and friends (especially her life long friend Jane Lee Wright) and leaves behind a legacy of love and memories. She is survived by her son, Patrick Jennings Cox; and her sisters, Anne Carter Dickerson (Wilson) and Pinckey Sowers (Jimmy). Patricia was preceded in death by her father, John Alexander Harrison, her mother, Olivia Carter Harrison, and her beloved husband, Dr. Jennings Goddin Cox.
Patricia's educational journey began at Blackstone High School and continued at James Madison University, where she further cultivated her passion for learning.
Patricia Harrison Cox will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those who had the honor of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity and elegant spirit will forever be remembered.
