There are many nieces and nephews whom he shared work, music, and fun times. He was a person that loved deeply, care about others, and helped wherever he could and was determined to do the right thing.
He was a Powhatan High School graduate with may accolades to his credit. He was proud of his track and field accomplishments as well as his performance on the football field. He was especially proud of breaking several high school track and field records.
He was part of the "Moonshiners" local dance band and played with them for over 15 years. He never lost his love to perform and play his music as he had just recently completed a Christian album rightly titled "Legacy of Praise" in which he rallied his musically gifted family members to also take part. It was finalized this past summer and due to his persistence, the gospel of Jesus Christ is now spread in and around Powhatan County.
He also sang bass with the "Highlighters" for many years and enjoyed the harmony with his quartet. They also made a Christian CD. They loved singing wherever they would be invited.
He worked for R. C. Goodwyn & Sons, Inc. for his entire life along with his brothers, sons, and nephews. Served in many capacities during those years and served as president before retiring in 2005.
