R. Gray Lawson

January 20, 1938 — October 22, 2013

R. Gray Lawson, 75, died on October 22, 2013. Gray was a life long resident of Powhatan County and a proud graduate of Ferrum College where he played football for beloved Coach Hank Norton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Pauline Lawson; his son Trevor Gray Lawson and his brother, Curtis Lawson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Lawson; daughters, H. Lynnette Lawson (Richard), Kelsey Gray Lawson (Lance), granddaughters, Mereweather and Ellen Gray Lackey; sister, Linda Murphy, and very special great nephews Kyle and Will Dingus. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Midlothian Davita for their love and care. The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight) from 6 to 8 pm at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Friday 11 am in the Muddy Creek Baptist Church, Powhatan. Interment church cemetery. On line condolences may be made at bennettbardenfh.com
