Ralph Gary Lowe

Lowe Ralph (Gary), 68, of Va. Beach, entered his eternal life on August 22, 2022.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph C. and Lou Ellen Ayers Lowe. He is survived by his brother, Wayne Lowe (Leah); niece, Madison Lowe; and dear friends, Neal Jones and Leigh Ann Venable.

Born in Richmond, Gary spent many summers at the family cottage in the Northern Neck. Gary graduated from Douglas Freeman H.S. ('72) and attended Ferrum College and Virginia Tech.

Gary's greatest passion was music. An avid guitar player, he devoted countless hours perfecting his flat and finger picking techniques. Over the years, he enjoyed playing folk rock tunes at venues like Ocean Eddie's on the Va. Beach Pier.

Blessed with a colorful personality, Gary was yet a very private person who was a fleeting presence in our lives. When present, he enlivened a room. He was always quick with a funny story or a glowing compliment. He will be missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 26th, 2022, from 1 to 2:00 PM, with a services to follow at 2:00 PM, in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home Chapel, 3215 Anderson Highway (rt. 60), Powhatan. Internment in the Powhatan Community Cemetery.
