Raymond Lester DeNoon, a loving father, Papa, Daddy Raymond, 90, of Powhatan, widower of Ruth Hobson DeNoon, went to be with the Lord July 5, 2016. He was the son to the late James Ivy and Lilly DeNoon. He is survived by his daughter, Carol D. Crump (Randy) of Powhatan; two grandsons, Eric Crump of Chesterfield, Adam Crump (Ashli Arnold) of North Carolina; one great granddaughter, Phoenix Crump; the son he never had, Shane Bradley (Lisa) of New Mexico; one brother, Snead DeNoon; sister in laws, Milred (H.H.) Webb, Carolyn DeNoon and Helen DeNoon. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde, Charlie, Cecil, Esten and sister, Irene. Raymond was a WWII Army veteran serving in Czechoslovakia and Germany from 1944 - 1946 and worked at American Tobacco Co. for 35 Years. He enjoyed his family, his many nieces and nephews, loved to rabbit and deer hunt, planting and harvesting his garden. Thanks to Pat DeNoon for being a loving and caring care giver and to St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospice Care. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11am in the Muddy Creek Baptist Church, Powhatan. Interment church cemetery.
