Rebecca Ellen McAlister

Rebecca Ellen Smith McAlister, 89, passed away on September 19, 2023 at her home in Mosley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maephord and Roy G. Smith; her siblings, Verley Covington(TX), Roy L. Smith(VA), Charles R. Smith(FL), Brother-in-law Duncan Covington(TX), her sister-in-law Betty Lee Smith(VA), and her son, Michael K. McAlister(FL). She is survived by her daughter, C. Denise Haas(Matt) of Powhatan, sister-in-law, Doris R. Smith(FL), two granddaughters, Rachelle Todd(Will) of Florida, Rebecca Conkey(Ryan) of Florida and four great-grandchildren, William, Erin, Olivia, and Andrew of Florida. Rebecca graduated from John Marshall High School and Braxton Business College. She worked as a secretary/office manager in Anesthesiology and Psychiatry at the Medical College of Virginia for 29 years. She retired on disability. Rebecca's life was a rocky road, but it finally led her to the streets of gold, with no pain, nor tears. Rebecca's memorial service will be held Monday October 2, 2023 at Graceland Baptist Church at 2 PM, at 975 Dorset rd, Powhatan VA 23139.
