Robert O. Young

Robert O. Young,"Bob or "Cowboy", 80 of Richmond, formally of Powhatan, passed away April 30, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Lee Young; children, Dee Short (Wayne), Babs Young and Jody Walker (Chris); brother, Bubba Young ( Helen); sister in- laws, Edith Hinson (Dave) and Lillie Brinklow; brother in-laws, Herbert Noel (Teresa) and Harvey Noel (Laruce); 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Etta Mae our other mother for all she has done. He also leaves behind his Beloved dog, Penny. Bob worked at Phillip Morris for 37 years. Also he worked for Tomac for 10 years before fully retiring. He enjoyed his horse, participating in Rodeos and riding in the Richmond Parade. He was a member of the Powhatan Western Riders Association. Bob also loved square dancing. He was a Deacon for the Red Lane Baptist Church. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held, Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Red Lane Baptist Church Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to The Alzheimers Association ( act.alz.org )
