Robert Willis Tilton

Robert "Bob" W. Tilton, 89, of Powhatan, Virginia passed away on December 31, 2023. He was born in Neptune, New Jersey on March 5, 1934. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carol Hart Tilton; two children Robert "Pat" Tilton (Brenda) and Sherri Campo (Todd); three grandchildren Amy DeHart(Kyle) Lindsay Mitchell (Sean), and Brandon Cubbage (Brianna); four great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four step-great grandchildren.

He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955 on the USS Wisconsin during the Korean War, and the New Jersey State Police as a SFC from 1962 to 1989.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, Poppy to his grandkids and great grandkids, and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting his friends at Panera's with Carol for a bagel breakfast sandwich, tinkering in the garage, and watching and quoting every episode of Forensic Files.

He will be fondly remembered for his sharp wit, ability to make anyone laugh, love and compassion for animals, detailed storytelling, and being a family man. 

Robert will have a graveside service at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery on January 18th, 2024 at 2 PM.
