Samuel Taylor of Powhatan, 84, died at his home Friday, November 11, 2022. Samuel is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Taylor; brother John, sisters MaryLou and Dottie, preceded by his sisters Virginia, Ruby, Ann, and Dixie, and his brothers Joseph and Buford. Samuel is also survived by his loving children; Garland,(Maureen), Rodney (Lisa), Wendy (Daniel); grandchildren; Haley (Chris),Hannah, Jackson, Hayden, Samuel, Holden and one great grandchild, Lia Faith, as well as many nieces and nephews. A career truck driver, Sam enjoyed many hobbies, especially fishing, tinkering and inventing, and watching his grandkids participating in sports. He loved his church and it's community. A loving family man, he was also a great neighbor and never met a stranger. He made friends easily, never hesitating to greet, meet, and speak.

Friends and Family are invited to Bennet & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy, Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm. Church service at Fine Creek Baptist Church 3619 Huguenot Trail, Monday, November 14, 2022 at 2pm. Graveside service is at Greenwood Memorial Gardens 12609 Patterson Avenue, Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11am.
